From luxe to less: Your guide to the best family friendly hotels in Sydney

At these five Sydney hotels, family friendly hospitality extends way past just a bed for the night and a fold out couch in the corner.  These are hotels where babies are treated like VIP’s, or VIBs in this case, and the parents are able to relax and reclaim a bit of sanity. Covering both the luxury and budget ends of the price spectrum, this list has you covered for your visit to Sydney with kids.

Top 5 family friendly Sydney hotels

1. Park Hyatt Sydney

At the top of the price scale, sitting majestically on one of the world’s most beautiful harbours, Park Hyatt Sydney perfectly personifies contemporary harbour side luxury with its coveted location between the iconic Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.  And as much as I wish I could claim the VIB (Very Important Baby) reference above I can’t. It’s actually the program that the Park Hyatt Sydney offers it’s guests travelling with kids.

2. The Langham Sydney

A few blocks removed from the hustle and bustle of the CBD streets, The Langham Sydney feels like a peaceful world unto itself, with luxurious furnishings, elegant rooms and attentive staff.

The hotel’s recent refurbishment has resulted in chic and elegant interiors that will make you want to run home and redesign your whole house.  Each sophisticated room or suite is quite large by regular hotel room standards. And suites add living areas, kitchenettes, and even some with dining areas or bars.

3. Park Royal Darling Harbour

Overlooking the beautiful Sydney Sky-line and the Harbour itself the 5-Star Park Royal Darling Harbour hotel offers not only the basic necessities to meet your requirements for a nights stay, but has the facilities to push your stay to a world-class experience.

4. Four Points by Sheraton Sydney

The design team for the Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Central Park got the memo that states “less is more” when creating the newest hotel in Sydney’s luxury family friendly accomodation category.  The hotel offers an ideal location, friendly service and convenient family friendly amenities, all wrapped up in a simple, elegant, monochromatic bow. And in this travellers opinion, one of the best bits of the hotel is that the mini fridges in your room are empty which is brilliant when you are travelling with kids so you can stack your fridge with kid appropriate snacks without worrying about the costly snack raids at the end of your stay.

5. Mercure Sydney

At the risk of sounding like a real estate agent I want to say “location location location”. The Mercure Hotel Sydney is right near Central station which, you guessed it, means you are located centrally to everything.

It’s affordable and comfortable so it ticks a lot of the boxes for a family holiday in Sydney. The Mercure also scores major mum points for the really cool indoor pool on the 14th floor with great views of the city.
