Wood Fire Grill is one of Noosa’s finest restaurants, set against the backdrop of the banks of the picturesque Noosa River. The restaurant uses its signature cooking technique of the wood fire grill to give its dishes amazing smells and tastes like no other in the area. With the mix of local produce and the world class chefs who prepare the food, you’re sure to have an amazing time at this excellent family friendly restaurant.
Wood Fire Grill is in one of the best spots in Noosa, right on the banks of the lovely Noosa River. The restaurant is just off Noosa Parade, which is only a few streets away from the town center. Being away from the hustle and bustle of the main area of town, you’ll be able to enjoy the peaceful surroundings along the banks of the Noosa River whilst you kick back and enjoy your meal.
The menu for Wood Fire Grill has a focus on the use of locally grown and sourced produce, like a lot of places do in the area. However, unlike the other restaurants in the area, Wood Fire Grill uses produce from its very own farm, Maravista Farm in the Noosa Hinterland.
The menu is seasonal, and is subject to change, but you’ll find something for everyone all year round. And although the place is famous for its perfectly cooked meat, you have to try the Morten Bay bug squid ink spaghetti, which is to die for.
FOR THE KIDS
Wood Fire Grill offers a fairly standard kids menu, which goes hand in hand with the very family friendly atmosphere of the restaurant. They offer the standard tomato pastas, fish and chips, and chicken and veggies, but they also offer a children’s steak option, which fits in well with their main menu, as they are famous for the wood fire grilled meats. The kids’ menu also has an activity sheet that comes with it, and this will entertain them while they wait patiently for their meals. Crayons and pencils are provided.
However, something that is unique to the restaurant is that they have a small kids park with play equipment around the back of the property. Because the restaurant has acquired the land right on the edge of the river, they have a bit more space than most other restaurants in the area. Thus, they can cater to families in this way better than others might because of the facilities available. The undercover outdoor area of the restaurant looks out onto the playground as well, so you can sit back, enjoy the view and watch the kids, all at the same time. How great is that!
OUT AND ABOUT BABY TIP
Every Sunday at Lunchtime Wood Fire Grill has a family deal where you get a meat share-plate and 2 sides for 2 people for $60. Kids entertainment is also put on at this time (12:30 – 2:30) in the park next to the restaurant, and the best part is that it’s free.
