Finding it’s home on the sandy shoreline of one of Sydney’s most iconic harbour beaches, Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel is the perfect destination for families in pursuit of salty air, a cold beer, sun-drenched weekends and seaside experiences with a view.
Yes the slew of awards like Winner of ‘Hotel of the Year’ by the NSW AHA are great, but it’s the dedicated kids’ activities, events and on-site café serving kid-friendly fare that really makes The Watson’s Bay Boutique Hotel stand out as somewhere that kids are not just tolerated, but welcomed. Don’t believe us? Last school holidays they hosted cookie-making classes, petting zoos and a pirate day, complete with face painting and treasure hunts!
By the waterfront, the hotel’s Hamptons-esque nautical-themed Beach Club is a hotspot for visitors and locals alike, making it the ultimate destination for those seeking long, lazy lunches with a view. Chefs aim to aide your cocktail-filled day in Beach Club with sashimi tasting plates, delicious classics and chilled seafood feasts making for that perfect Instagram shot. Just search and #watsonsbay on instagram and your feed will be full of more blue and white stripped umbrellas than you can poke a stick at.
Watsons Bay Hotel is located in the South Head Peninsula located 11km north-east of the Sydney CBD. The historic suburb is quintessentially Australian, as one of the nation’s first settlement areas, the natural beauty of the former fishing village has been stunning visitors since the 1700’s. The iconic Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel itself is rooted deep in Australian history, as a landmark established over 180 years ago. Given a makeover in 2013, the venue is both a local favourite as well as plays host to thousands of tourists every year. Only 11km from Sydney’s CBD, Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel has now quickly become an iconic gem of Sydney’s seaside scene.
The hotel itself boasts 31 boutique accomodation rooms and suites with views across the gorgeous Robertson Park, Watsons Bay residential areas and Sydney Harbour.
The Watson’s Loft Rooms are perfect for families and are set up with a king bed downstairs and twins singles up on a mezzanine level. So if your children are old enough to be safe around mezzanines, these rooms are terrific.
Baby Cots are available by request in advance.
A baby change table is located in the bathrooms in the hotel reception area.
Parking is at a premium around this area, especially when the weather is good. Catch public transport if possible (the Ferry is an easy option from Circular Quay), otherwise look for street parking and be prepared to walk.
