Three Blue Ducks Rosebery

Café

Information

Rating

The heritage-listed warehouse café in Rosebery (also home to interiors heaven Koskela) is the third site for Three Blue Ducks, alongside award-winning sister café-restaurants in Bronte and Byron Bay.  Like their other locations, you can bank on honest and exciting food that’s sourced sustainably and served in a relaxing environment.

The Menu at Three Blue Ducks Rosebery

Three Blue Ducks Rosebery has a focus on unique dishes made with smoke and fire. The Argentinian grill in the garden gets fired up every chance they get; with whole lambs, pigs and large cuts of beef.  You might also see trussed up whole chooks roasting above the coals and the wood fired oven and two charcoal pits add smokey elements to a lot of dishes each service.

For vegie-enthusiasts, there is a dedicated bulk of the menu to seasonal produce from the markets. Plus there are daily specials.

For those on the go, you can grab takeaway coffee, tea and food all day.

Now with three celebrity head chefs at the helm, with Master Chef winner Andy Allen joining original Ducks, Darren Robertson and Mark Labrooy, guests can be assured the menu will be second to none.

THE SPACE:

The Restaurant is part of The Cannery building where the old Rosella soup cannery stood. Its true rustic history comes alive in the exposed beams, super high ceilings, stripped back walls and concrete floors. The mural walls, hanging chandeliers and indoor plants bring out the warmer elements to the industrial space.

You can also relax in the popular garden courtyard, brimming with olive trees, grape vines and herbs. The sun drenches this space most of the day, making it a great spot for a lazy lunch or a quick coffee.

Then after you have eaten all that your stretchy pants will allow, go for a wander around Australian interiors heaven Koskela.

Parking

Parking can be a bit of a challenge sometimes, especially on a busy weekend. Just be prepared to scoot around the streets for a bit before sitting down to eat.

Baby Change Facilities

There is a drop down baby change mat in the disabled toilets.

Nice big space and delicious food – my 11 month old devours anything they make but he’s a pretty adventurous eater. Staff are always lovely and the change facilities are in one of the unisex bathrooms so mum or dad can easily go (always a plus)! Choose your timing though as it can get busy and seating can be at a premium. For kids that run around, I’d also recommend bringing some kind of activity as you don’t want them running into Koskela and ruining any of the lovely (expensive) homewares.

Great atmosphere for the adults, not a lot for the kids to do, however there is a courtyard area outside they can walk around in if they get restless and staff are very accomodating. It is pram friendly (except for the couple of stairs at the entrance) with the change table located in the disabled bathroom. No kids menu unfortunately, however the food is great and the kids happily ate off our plates.
