The Lucky Hotel in Newcastle is one of the best options for a quick midweek overnight stay – particularly if you are looking for a place to rest your tired eyes after a long drive with the family up the coast. Think exposed brick walls, timber tables and steel beams. It’s almost a renovated warehouse feel – but with a restaurant and hotel rooms.
The menu in the alfresco pub features American BBQ style fare, from chilli con carne nachos to smoked lamb shank.
Note: Kids eat free on Mondays!
After a recent renovation, the Lucky Hotel each of The Lucky’s 30 boutique rooms (constructed in 2014) are unique, featuring modern and tasteful furnishings, ensuite bathrooms, luxury bedding and L’Occitane amenities.
It’s a great spot to do a quick overnight stay if you are there midweek. But do keep in mind that it is above a pub. So try to book a room on the 2nd floor and if you are staying with kids, and keep it just to midweek. That being said, we stayed on a Monday night and we didn’t have any issues with noise.
There is no parking directly attached to the hotel. However there is paid parking (until 5pm) on the street and a paid public parking station across the road.
Mon – Fri: 9am – 6pm
