The Glenmore

Hotel / Pub

Positioned in the heart of The Rocks, The Glenmore has been an Aussie icon since 1921. With its colonial old English charm and character, this hidden gem is a popular place for friends & colleagues to meet, for visitors to Sydney to discover and locals to call home. Since its renovation in 2012, The Glenmore has become a premier venue in Sydney’s CBD which prides itself on its high level of service, impressive food and beverage offering, quality presentation of the venue and highly sought after location.

Mostly, The Glenmore is known for its sundrenched rooftop which has sweeping 180 degree views of Sydney Harbour and the CBD. With a retractable roof, the rooftop can be enjoyed in rain, hail or shine & the heaters also make the rooftop a popular destination during the colder months.

In addition to the rooftop, The Glenmore’s middle level (previously accommodation rooms) is a destination for private dining, functions, product launches and corporate meetings, entertaining or functions. Complete with its own cocktail bar, Grand Dining Room, Pool Room & Club Room, this Lounge level is inspired by ‘Louise Lovely’ a 1920’s actress who frequented The Glenmore telling her tales of Hollywood.

Our family with a 4 year old had dinner at The Glenmore with friends who have a toddler. The pub is not pram friendly but are very accommodating in all other aspects. The kid’s menu is limited to a few options but isn’t too bad. The children were able to move around freely but we were there for an early kid friendly dinner time. I suspect this would be different during lunch and later in the evening.

It’s probably one of the least pram friendly places I’ve been but the staff at The Glenmore in The Rocks get extra points for being incredibly friendly and super helpful. They stashed the pram for us, changed the tv to ABC kids and were just all round nice. They also had a yummy kids menu (although the kids pasta was spaghetti which is unadvisable unless it’s ok to make a big fat mess) and high chairs.
