Are you or your kids animal lovers? Are you after a change in scenery from the beautiful Taronga Zoo? Then Shoalhaven Zoo is right up there for you. Boasting the largest zoo on the NSW South Coast, with over 100 species of exotic mammals, birds and reptiles, it’s a must visit for animal lovers.
Ticket Prices
Tickets vary across age-groups, however, are still relatively well priced. $28 for general admission for adults (16 and older) and $16 for children aged 3 to 15 years. If you’re bringing the whole family (2 kids and dad), take advantage of their family bundle ($78 for 2 adults & 2 children).
Interactive Experiences
Lion Feeding Encounter
If you’re feeling a bit more daring, take on their lion feeding encounter. For and additional $88.00 you can get to get up close and personal to the king of the jungle.

Monkey Madness
If you are after something a little more tame, then monkey madness allows you to get up close with the Marmoset monkeys. Tickets are $80 for 1 person.
Meerkat Mania
Get up close and personal with these cute critters as you hand-feed the Meerkats. This is a popular attraction given the friendliness and general fun antics of Meerkats. Tickets are $80 for 1 or $150 for 2.
If these 3 don’t settle it for you, there’s still plenty more! Choose from the “Ultimate Aussie Experience”, birthday party celebrations or even the VIP experience, where you get to come face-to-face with a lion, wolves, wombats and more!
All experiences are extremely hands on. You get to get up close to all these animals for a one of a lifetime experience. All experiences are also captured and sent to you so you can re-live this moment. These are perfect for the kids and are definitely a favourite.
Note for all interactive experiences:
- All photos taken during the encounter are put onto a USB for you to take home
- Admission prices are not included in experience fee and must be paid to participate in experience.
- Age restrictions apply. Minimum participating age is 7 years for meerkats and over 10 for most other activities.
Food
Zoo Haven Cafe is the zoo’s place to fill up and replenish. Located near the entrance with a stunning backdrop and with a contemporary take on rustic decor, it is the perfect place to unwind.
There is also a picnic and BBQ area if you would prefer to pack your own lunch.
