Founded in 1898 the Queen Victoria Building or the QVB is one of Sydney’s most-loved buildings with its unique collection of over 180 exquisite fashion, jewellery and accessories boutiques under a suite of copper-clad domes.
The shopping destination is a popular tourist attraction and local favourite, with stores including Salvatore Ferragamo, Bally, Oroton, Country Road, Coach, Haigh’s Chocolates and The Tea Room.
The QVB have just unveiled their brand new Parents Room located on lower ground 2 and it’s basically EXACTLY what we were hoping and praying for. Created in collaboration with Pike Withers the Parents Room is a little sanctuary in the heart of the Sydney CBD for you and your little ones to enjoy whilst shopping visiting the QVB.
It is equipped with a feeding room, bathroom, microwave, change table and child’s play area
Access is via the lifts stationed in the centre of the building.
The Disabled Bathroom is located on the Lower Ground Floor near the security office. There are also drop down change mats in these bathrooms.
Lifts are located at the North and South ends of the building with lifts also stationed in the centre of the building enabling access to all floors. There’s also enough space for your pram to go around.
If you’re in need of some food OUTSIDE of the QVB, we’ve got you covered with our list of the most child-friendly cafes in the CBD. With so many stores and restaurants, you’re bound to have a great day out.
If you’re driving over, there’s plenty of parking options at the QVB, ranging from valet to pre-bookings. For all options visit their website here.

QVB has got on the baby bandwagon!! It’s fabulous! All new and clean! It’s awesome! Makes the QVB a real go to location with parking and the assortment of shops with the underground connection to Pitt St! It feels and looks like a posh hotel!!
I found it really hard to find the proper baby change rooms rather than just the disabled toilets. (FYI It’s right down the bottom near where the gelato shop is). When I visited last time the change rooms were really busy and dirty and had a weird smell. I’d rather wait to walk somewhere else to change my son. The lifts are also possibly the slowest lifts in the world and always full so you can never get in with the pram and I always end up risking it and taking the escalator with the pram – not cool.
