O’Donnell Reserve is located at the street closure of Frederick Street, Vicars Avenue and O’Donnell Street in North Bondi. The existing play space caters primarily to younger children with traditional play structures that are nearing the end of their useful lives. The play space includes an artificial grass ‘kick about’ space which is also used by parents and carers for informal picnics and socialising.
If you are looking for a small, relaxed and informal-type outdoor space to use for your kid’s party, then O’Donnell Street playground could be just right. Perfect for 1st birthdays, and then up to about 4 years old. As it is a regular space used by locals, expect them to possibly get involved in your celebration too!
It is at the end of a cul de sac on all three sides, so it is quite safe. However, it is not enclosed, so parents will need to stick around to keep an eye on their kids.
It has standard playground equipment there; swings, slide, climbing frame, and undercover areas the kids often use as a pop-up shop selling their leaves and twigs!
There is a small water bubbler for the kids to use. And coffees for the parents can be purchased at Shuk about a 7 minute walk away.
Always clean and welcoming and it is also safe for ‘bare-feeting’ (no shoes)!
There are no toilets. Street parking is available, although busy.
If you are looking for Out & About Baby, don’t worry – you are in the right place! We have had a makeover!
