The Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan is the Australian native plant garden of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney and covers 416 hectares. The Garden features outdoor sculptures, free gas barbecues and picnic shelters, a restaurant and a gift shop which sells plants. The Australian Botanic Garden is a major event venue and the most popular visitor attraction in the Camden district.
The plantings are designed to take visitors on an exploration of Australia’s unique plant life with the Connections Garden being the premier Garden within the site. The four and a half hectare Connection Garden is a roofless museum demonstrating the way people and the natural world interconnect.
The Garden is also one of the premier outdoor events venues in South West Sydney and hosts AnnanROMA Food and Wine Festival in April and the largest Carols event in the region in December.
The Australian Botanic Garden is 57 km from Sydney CBD, about 45 minute drive from the city.
Street parking is available. Zoned parking areas and road regulations are enforced in the Garden. The roads within the Garden are public roads and therefore all normal traffic regulations apply.
The Australian Botanic Garden is FREE to enter.
Some special experiences may incur a charge. Paid tours can be booked for groups and are guided by qualified staff or free tours can be taken with their volunteers. Both can be booked through the visitor centre.
The ABG Children’s Playground is great for kids aged from 1 – 12 years.
With everything from sand pits for the little ones to a flying fox for the older kids, the playground is perfect for kids to run wild with slides, climbing walls, swings and plenty of opportunity for nature play.
And while the little ones play, parents can relax with a coffee from the restaurant which is right next door.
Melaleuca House is set in the heart of the Australian Botanic Garden and serve weekend breakfast, gourmet burgers, pastas, salads, focaccias, great coffee and more. Dine indoors or outdoors in our casual courtyard area.

Weekends, 8.00 am – 4.00 pm.
Toilet facilities are available throughout the Garden with baby change facilities in the main car park (P3) toilets and the Bowden Centre.
Please note, domestic animals e.g. dogs are not permitted in the Garden.
The Garden is open every day of the year.
