Dachshund Coffee

Information

Rating

Located in Hunters Hill, Dachshund Coffee prides themselves on premium coffee and fresh, innovative food.  3 years since launching, Dachshund Coffee is more than just a nice place to get coffee (although it is very good at that too) and the place is still as popular as ever – particularly when the weekend rolls around.

The food is simple, with a focus on local suppliers including Brickfields Bakery, Rainy Lane juices and Egganic eggs. And although the menu changes with the seasons, favourites like the Reformed Avocado (aka Avo Smash) doesn’t look like it’s going to go anywhere anytime soon. And for good reason. It’s a delicious fresh take on a cafe classic and features smashed avocado with homemade quinoa tabbouleh and vine-ripened tomatoes.

Groups with small kids can sit in the arcade, where a tiny picnic table offers a jar of colour pencils. Inside, the atmosphere is a little calmer making you quite happy to sit and relax for hours with bunches of native flowers, a communal table and exposed copper piping and subway tiles in different shades of sea green…. if only your toddler would allow you to sit and stay.

BABY CHANGE FACILITIES

Dachshund Coffee is located in the same building as The Hunters Hill Hotel, you will find a baby change table in their disabled toilet.

PARKING

There is underground parking available under the hotel. Turn right directly under at the traffic lights.

Terrific coffee and great food. Gets really busy on the weekends but we booked a table and let them know at the time of booking we had a pram, and they were expecting us – there was plenty of room set aside in the arcade. Food was a little slow and I overheard them telling tables that came in after us it would be a 30 minute wait, so come prepared for a leisurely brunch, and order an extra coffee!

Only small but great cafe with good coffee. There’s room in the arcade for strollers so definitely bring the littlees.

Service with a great big smile. Food was delicious. Went for breakfast during the week so it was really comfortable. Doubt it would be quite so chilled on a weekend. Can imagine it getting really busy. Parents best to sit in the arcade part out the front with a mini chairs and table set up for the kids to draw.
