Coogee Pavilion

Celebrating the good things in life – friendship, family, fun and food, all with an iconic Coogee ocean view, Merivale’s Justin Hemmes has done it again. Offering casual dining in a fun, beachside setting the Coogee Pavilion is a great spot for adults with kids to feel like they still have a life.

The ground floor space is part marketplace, part hangout spot, and sports a stripped-back aesthetic complemented by the odd nautical flourish. It is the ideal location for family get-togethers, coffee dates or catching up with friends.

The wood-fired pizzas, sashimi and freshly shucked oysters are a perfect accompaniment to the salty scent of the ocean and it’s a must to try any of the seafood mains.  Think sweet roasted bugs, amped with chilli and crisp curry leaves, or tender beef on an aromatic salad of sawtooth coriander, Thai basil and bonito cream. YUM!

*Please note: Coogee Pavilion Ground floor welcomes under 18’s however they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Rooftop is an over 18’s space only.

PLAY AREA

No more sending your kids down to the beach with a couple of floaties when there’s giant Scrabble to play with and a neon whale to admire. The nostalgic games arena – complete with petanque, giant magnetic scrabble, ping pong and an in-house theatrette – ensures fun for all ages.

Location

Sun-drenched Coogee is a local favourite for surfers, families and lap swimmers who flock to the historic Wylie’s Baths – but the cafés and restaurants also draw their fair share of crowds. And while we’ll never pass on an elegant dinner and drinks, there’s still pleasure to be had in a simple ice-cream cone and stroll along the beach.

PARKING

There is a paid car park as well as paid street parking right next to Coogee Pavilion. During the week scoring a spot is fairly easy but on weekends (especially in summer) this can be a bit tricky.

Ground floor is so much fun, especially with little ones. Food is yummy and easy to share and Coogee beach is just a stone’s throw away. Nice place to get together with friends who don’t have kids too as everyone can be accommodated.
