The Central Hotel, Shellharbour, is a great club that provides amazing service, entertainment and food for the whole family. With 2 restaurants, a play area for the kids, and anything else you could possibly want out of your local pub or club, The Central Hotel is the place to be when staying in Shellharbour.
LOCATION
The Central Hotel is located in Shellharbour, on the south coast of New South Wales. The hotel is in the ‘center’ of town, so if you’re staying in the area, it will be easy for you to get to and from your accommodation. The Central also tends to have several events on during the month, like live music or entertainment, so keep that in mind when visiting. Make sure to check their social media pages just to be sure.
MENU
The Central Hotel has 2 great restaurants on the premises both of them have excellent menus with a selection of different foods and drinks to try. The Bistro is open Monday – Sunday, and they serve your typical pub food. The food here is great quality, and is a little bit more upmarket than your average pub grub in taste and price. There are also choices of small meals, entrees and full mains on the menu, as well as their famous takeaway pizzas.
The Cantina is the other restaurant at the club and it is a Mexican themed eatery with a small bar attached. The Cantina is open Thursday – Sunday, and offers your typical Mexican meals, such as burritos, fajitas, tacos, salads and even some non-Mexican food like pizzas and burgers. But, it wouldn’t be a Mexican restaurant without some Mexican drinks, and they offer margaritas, sangria, tequila, and a range of beers, wines and ciders as well.
FOR THE KIDS
The Central Hotel has one of the best kids menus for club/pub food in (dare I say) the whole region, with lots of things on offer for the littlies. Some of the meals on offer are fish, calamari, and nuggets (all with chips), bangers and mash, and spaghetti bolognese. The best part about these meals is, that they are all only $6 each, and come with a Paddle Pop ice cream for after dinner. Salads are only $4 extra for the kids as well.
The Cantina also has a kids menu, with tacos, quesadillas and corn chips for only $6 each, so even if you’re not eating at the bistro, you’ll still be able to get something for the kids.
Downstairs there is also a great kids’ play area that is part of the club for the patrons to use. The large plastic play equipment, is in a small fenced area to keep the kids from running off and the floor is covered in a soft astro-turf, to prevent accidents. So you can leave the kids down there while you relax upstairs, or watch them from the chairs and tables downstairs nearby. There are also a few pool tables in the upstairs area for the bigger kids to have a couple of games on, so there really is something for everyone on offer.
OUT AND ABOUT BABY TIP
Visit the Central Hotel on Sunday or Monday nights with the whole family, because kids eat free on those nights! If you buy 1 adult main meal, you get 1 kids meal totally free, so if you’re holidaying on a budget, make the most of this deal while you can.
