Set within a heritage sandstone building with spectacular views from a wrap around balcony, Burnt Orange Cafe in leafy Mosman is known for its sweeping lawns and beautiful food. They cater well for the whole family, right through from baby to grandma.
Go for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or treat yourself, friends and family to a delicious High Tea.
The Café at Burnt Orange was once part of the Mosman Golf Club, and the building dates back to the 1920s with stunning views of Sydney Harbour round to Mosman Bay and Manly making it a great spot to show off to out of town guests.
While you are there, you can also browse through the eclectic gift shop which offers a fantastic range of children’s toys and clothes as well as ladies and mens attire and homewares…..just maybe keep your toddlers tiny fingers in their pockets though.
The menu focuses on buying the best quality ingredients from the top suppliers in Sydney and changes seasonally.
The new head chef, Masaki has tweaked the menu slightly so original dishes like the breakfast board now come with Miso salmon (extremely delicious), poached or scrambled eggs, halloumi, avocado and the signature Avoca bread. The team also makes their own bread and scones daily, as well as jams, marmalades & chutneys. And the signature Tasmanian Salmon Cake and Fish pie are also back on the menu.
You can have breakfast, lunch, high tea, and afternoon tea daily. And the increasingly popular Burnt Orange High Tea is served all day Monday to Friday and from 3.30pm on weekends.
Bookings are essential as everything is made fresh to order on the day.
Parking is in the adjacent car parks above or below Burnt Orange and charges are $4 p/h during the week and $5 p/h on the weekend.
Families are very welcome here and you will see children and prams at most tables. Bookings are advised as it gets very busy and make sure you request your high chairs in advance.
