The Out & About Baby Social Club

It’s a Mother’s Group but not as you know it.

Uniting a tribe of Mothers who share a love of family, fun and learning.

We are raising the future and leading our best lives together.

Events that have a little something for everyone

We love to have fun. We love coffee and we love wine. Our events reflect this.

The aim is to host one event a month and they will range in cost from as little as $15 up to $70 – just depending on the event.

Each event will be in a different area around Sydney (yes it’s just Sydney at this stage).

And it’s not just for new mums with tiny babies! Mums of all ages can come to our events.  If you like a topic, or think it sounds like fun you are more than welcome in our tribe!

Basic First Aid Skills, Fashion and Styling, Fitness, Sleep Training, Food, and more.

We want our Social Club Events to mean something and help you learn along the way.

Casual Catch Ups and a chance to cut loose

Sometimes, mums just want to have fun.  We aren’t suggesting it’s going to be a scene out of “Bad Moms“, but if you want to cut loose for a night, have a glass of wine and a good feed, and maybe get a little dressed up, then we are totally your crew.

Everyday, all around the world, there are mums and dads who are struggling with their emotional health. Last year a study revealed that 92 percent of new mums admitted to experiencing intense bouts of loneliness – and one in seven postnatal depression – according to the postnatal charity, PANDA.

The purpose of Out & About Baby is to make life easier for mums (that’s you!) as well as help you be social and live your new normal in places that cater to the demands of little people and parenting.  By no means, is getting out of the house the only solution for those suffering PND, but it certainly can help, and it is the ongoing mission of The Out & About Baby Company to make life as easy as possible for those experiencing it and to continuously raise funds and awareness for the cause.

Access to our Social Club Member’s Only Facebook Group

When you buy a ticket to any one of our events, you will also get invited to join our exclusive Out & About Baby Social Club Members Only Facebook Group.

This is a place to continue to connect with the mums you have just met IRL.  We will also be live streaming from all our events, so you can go back and re-learn something you might have missed. OR, if for whatever reason you can’t attend, you can still learn something new.  Coz you know, #mumlife happens.

Why we are starting The Social Club

Never has it been more true that it takes a village to raise a child. Over the last 50 or so years, family life has changed dramatically. Geographical distance, family breakdowns, multiple caring responsibilities, and the long-work-hours culture have all contributed to there being less connectedness. Isolation and loneliness are increasingly the hallmarks of our society – not just for the elderly, but for many younger people as well. Half a century ago, if a young mum had a baby who wouldn’t sleep, if a newly-married couple had the argument of the century, or a child needed advice with a school project, there would most likely have been a grandparent, an uncle, an aunt or a cousin nearby who would be able to give much-needed reassurance, advice and support. But today many are parenting without family or even friends nearby, and we are the poorer for it.

We believe that every mother should be surrounded by a mum squad – because you can’t, and shouldn’t have to, do it alone.

Mother’s Groups are a great start. I was lucky enough to have a wonderful experience with my mothers’ group. In fact, I met two of my now-best friends at my first mothers’ group, some two and a half years ago. We met every Wednesday for three weeks where an early childhood nurse would talk about different topics and we’d get to ask questions like, “How often should my baby feed?”, “How do I settle my baby?” and most importantly, “Is it ok to have a glass of wine between feeds?”

But we are different.

We’re the business that wants to be friends with you—mostly because we’re not so much a brand as we are real people over here just trying to rethink parenthood and have a good time doing it.

We represent a revolution against mummy shaming and isolation. Being a parent does not mean you are never allowed a life again. In fact, we are big believers in the mantra “happy mum, happy child” and developing new relationships while getting out of the house is a big part of that.

We think everybody should be able to enjoy parenthood, without feeling isolated and ashamed.

We’re here to support each other, learn from each other and grow in motherhood together, as friends. Whether you’re a new mum to 1, or a practiced mum of 5, we can all benefit from being surrounded by a community of like minded mama’s who have got your back.
